IT Operations Assistant - Apprenticeship 2 Years FTC
We have a new opportunity within our IT Operations team for a keen individual wanting to complete their Level 3 IT Apprenticeship whilst learning valuable transferrable skills towards their career in IT. We are seeking someone with a genuine interest in IT systems who has a flexible and adaptable attitude.
The role:
You will be working within Macmillan Distribution's Technology team, based at our Basingstoke office working closely to support a range of internal and external customers and clients. You may also visit our Swansea distribution centre from time-to-time.
You will support the business-critical Vista system processes and connected systems through handling of incoming and management of relating queries and help requests from end users, either via email, phone, self-service portal or walk-in.
You will also be responsible for ensuring all IT Operations processes are clearly and efficiently documented.
About you:
Do you have the skills to be an excellent team member? You will need to work with all levels of the business acting with integrity and diplomacy. You will be passionate about delivering great customer service, be a clear communicator and have confidence to present issues and solutions to other teams.
There will be many occasions where you will receive feedback to help you in your role so you would need to have a flexible and open attitude towards this learning approach as the issues vary from day to day.
Our distribution’s business is time critical, therefore you must be able to work within time constraints, be able to focus on the present and manage your own tasks accordingly, therefore being really organised is an essential skill.
What you will learn:
During your apprenticeship you will acquire a strong understanding of distribution systems, methodologies, processes, and guidelines, and gain thorough experience of solution design and delivery in a technology function. Hours are worked on a rotating 3 shift pattern:
07:00 - 15:00 (home based), 09:00 - 17:00 (home based), & 12:00 - 19:00 (office based)
Once trained, you will also provide system support outside working hours on a rota basis which is between 19:00 - 23:00 which is also home based.
